Questions people ask
- What is the excess?
- The amount you'd pay towards damage or theft, often £1,000–£2,000. Rental desks sell cover to reduce it; buying the same cover in advance is usually far cheaper.
- Do I need a credit card?
- Most rental companies hold the excess on a credit card. Some accept debit cards with restrictions. Check the terms before booking.
- Which provider should I use?
- Prices vary by destination and season. Searching more than one takes a minute and can be worth it.
