Who we are

Escape2GO is a travel search and referral website operated from the United Kingdom. Contact: hello@escape2go.co.uk. Escape2GO is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

What we collect, and why

Browsing the site. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name. The site sets no cookies of its own and currently runs no analytics service. Where we have joined the Travelpayouts affiliate network, its script loads on our pages to verify the site and attribute bookings made through Travelpayouts links; that script is provided by Travelpayouts and is covered by their privacy notice. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security, capacity and fault-finding. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

Clicking a provider link. Most links to travel providers pass through an address on this site beginning /go/. When you use one, our server records that a click happened, which provider it went to, the page it came from and the time. This lets us see which pages are useful. We do not record your name and we do not build a profile of you. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.

Email you send us. If you email hello@escape2go.co.uk, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and deal with the matter. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps you have asked for.

Newsletter. The email sign-up on this site is not yet connected to a mailing service. At present the form opens a pre-filled email to us. If you send it, we will hold your address only until the newsletter launches, use it solely to send you Escape2GO travel deals and guides, and include an unsubscribe link in every message. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Lawful basis: consent. This section will be updated when a mailing service is connected.

Contact forms. The site has no contact form.

Affiliate links and what providers tell us

When you go through to a travel provider you leave this site, and that provider's own privacy notice applies. Providers and affiliate networks may set cookies on their sites to record that your visit came from Escape2GO, so that any commission can be attributed. Where we have joined an affiliate programme, we receive aggregate reports from that network (clicks, bookings and commission). We do not receive your name, contact details, payment details or travel documents from providers.

Who processes data on our behalf

• Hosting: Vercel Inc. hosts the site and holds the server logs described above.
• Email: Namecheap Inc. provides our mailboxes, so email you send us is stored on their systems.
• Affiliate networks and providers: listed on our affiliate disclosure page as and when we join them. Travelpayouts (Go Travel Un Limited) provides tracking for flight and hotel links where enabled.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share your email address with travel providers.

International transfers

Our hosting and email providers are US companies whose systems may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards in those providers' contractual terms, which are designed to meet UK data protection requirements.

How long we keep it

• Server and click logs: for the retention period set by our hosting provider, which is short and measured in days or weeks, not years.
• Email correspondence: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, then deleted in routine clear-outs.
• Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Cookies

escape2go.co.uk sets no cookies of its own, and fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties. Where the Travelpayouts script is enabled, it may set cookies used to attribute bookings to this site; we will review what it sets and, if consent is required, ask for it before it loads.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. To exercise any of these, email hello@escape2go.co.uk; we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you are in the EU or elsewhere, you have equivalent rights under your local law and can contact your own supervisory authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this notice when the way the site handles data changes, and show the date at the top.
